What does “Sadhana” mean?

“Sadhana” is the Sanskrit word for practice.

This could be a personal ritual, a dedicated daily discipline, or a spiritual practice. It is a mean of accomplishing something which could be cultivating good habits or letting go of old patterns that hinder you from moving forward.

Yoga is more than physical movement.

Yoga practice is more than asanas practice, the physical movement. It is a potent tool that help building both physical and mental strength, flexibility, adaptability, and stamina. Ultimately, one can live a balanced and healthful live through this dedicated consistent practice.

What is “The Practice: A 40-Day Habit Forming Sadhana?”

It takes 40-days to develop healthy habits for life. During the 40 days, Jai Yoga will use core yoga philosophy that acts as the blueprint for making healthy habits stick. This blueprint is known as “The 8 Limbs of Yoga.” Each facet of the 8 limbs of yoga teaches us how to bring healthy habits into all aspects of our lives, so that each day has meaning and purpose. Each week, our instructors will teach their classes based on the 8 Limbs of Yoga:

  • Week 1: How to become a stronger person by honouring your boundaries

  • Week 2: How to work within to achieve personal fulfillment

  • Week 3: Merge body and breath for a complete body-mind experience

  • Week 4: The art of turning inward and sharpening your focus.

  • Week 5: Journey towards the ultimate state of yoga

The Practice might be a challenge. Carving out self-care on a daily basis is not an easy commitment. But trust that living a meaningful and purpose driven life is worth your effort to show up. Make a commitment to yourself and to what you wish to invite into your life.

Q: Will taking 20 classes in 40 days be too much for me?

A: Absolutely not. It's not about powering through every session. At Jai Yoga, we offer a diverse mix of classes - think gentle Yin Yoga, soothing Happy Hips, balanced Yin Yang, classic Hatha, Vinyasa, and even meditation-focused sessions. You get to choose what suits your body and mind each class, mixing energizing practices with restorative ones for a well-rounded experience. Remember, a balanced approach is key to a sustainable practice. (That's exactly why we designed this challenge! 😉)

Q: Can I take more than one class in a day?

A: Yes, of course! You can take two classes in one day. For example, you can pair your Vinyasa class with a Candlelight Yoga to cool down and unwind for the day. That counts as 2 classes!

Q: What are you doing to help me keep accountable?

A: We have created an exclusive WhatsApp group for this program we will share mind-body resources with you and you can have conversation with our teachers and other participants. You will get to link to join a few days before January 8th, 2024 in your virtual welcome package, which will be emailed to you!
